The secondary machining process is where raw material or a component is taken for further working, usually involving material removal, and is carried out after a primary forming process. As a final stage in manufacturing, it helps improve the surface finish and aesthetics, dimensional integrity and tolerance of the moulded parts when they emerge from the press.
CNC machining: CNC means computer numerical control and is used for a wide range of complex tasks when the process is automated. Wizaps are the best in automation, as they have a team of experts who will help the clients to automate the manufacturing process that can control and create different moulded prototypes as per their requirements.
Milling: During face or peripheral milling operations, a cutting tool uses multiple-point rotary cutters to crave deep threads, slots, and gear teeth on a workpiece. As a second machinery process, milling is considered as a finish coat because it helps define features like contours, holes, pockets and slots.
Drilling: It is a computer numerical control (CNC) secondary machine process, utilizing a rotating cutter with cutting edges to produce holes in workpieces. While drilling procedures are primarily done in drill presses, this procedure can also be done in plastic manufacturing.
Grinding: This is also known as surface grinding, this machining operation uses a powdered abrasive wheel, belt sheet or paste. These procedures have a fine-tolerance surface finish. Unlike other processes, the grinding is thought to be a more precise tolerance.
Tapping: This process employs a cylindrical or conical thread–cutting tool to create grooves into the inside surface of a drilled hole. Through this, a screw cap or a bolt can be fitted that can be programmed on a CNC.
Machining the perfectly precise and functional parts requires attention to detail and experience in the machining process. Though the traditional machining is still in use, the CNC is an improved process.
With plastic parts assembling becoming more common a lot goes into designing, and a plastic injection moulding machine makes things easier and in bulk.
As manufacturers of custom plastic injection moulded parts and assemblies the goal of Wizaps is to combine innovation and technology and years of experience to provide the best.
